Sickness Duration As A Clue To Your Health & Longevity

How often do you get sick?

When you do get sick, how long does it take to get well? Would you like more health?

Before I began eating brown rice every day, eating mostly organic, and limiting animal foods, I would get “The Flu” every year once or twice, and literally be down for one to three weeks.

Now, I get a mini-cold or fever once or twice a year, for 12 hours to two days, and usually I’m able to pinpoint the source of the problem.

Two nights ago, after a crazy Thanksgiving, filled with turkey, baked foods and sugar, I took my son to see Megadeth, then we went to IHOP afterwards. I had oatmeal and orange juice, but it was the late night and the yin of the juice that let the floodgates open. Always the pessimist, I figured I had appendicitis, but in truth, I’m on the mend and it’s been less than 24 hours.

How to fix up your body fast, and get to health:

  1. Get plenty of sleep, most of it 9pm-7am
  2. Do not eat any sugar, and it’s everywhere these days
  3. Have miso soup, not at a Japanese restaurant, but at home, with high quality miso and shiitakes
  4. Eat brown rice, chewing very well, and eat well cooked organic veggies with sea salt/sea veg
  5. Do a body rub before your shower, and take a nature walk in the morning and/or evening
  6. Get plenty of hugs and choose natural activities away from phone, computer, TV, etc.
  7. Avoid medicines. A fever <103 is better untreated. Most medicines hurt the liver, slowing recuperation
  8. Do yoga, deep creating, meditation, praying, chanting, poetry, singing, etc. and visualize your healing
  9. Laugh a little
  10. Try my Sweet Vegetable Drink
