Overate at a Party? Me Too! Fix It Fast…

I love chips, dips, cookies, brownies, pie, canolies, wine, and coffee, and I had all of those yesterday. My wife knows how to use moderation–I overate of course.

This morning I was still full, and of course could not have a bowel movement. It was a great party, and I was going to pay the price. Constipation is a drag. But alas, I know what to do.

  1. Skip breakfast. Have some warm water with a quarter lemon squeezed into it
  2. Take a nice long and relaxed walk
  3. Do stretching, yoga, meditation etcetera and don’t work hard in the morning
  4. Brew some sweet vegetable drink and consume mid morning
  5. Make miso soup, brown rice, veg and a pickle for lunch. I had some sweet vegetable jam on hand, you could substitute some boiled or steamed broccoli or cauliflower. Don’t overeat and chew very well.
  6. Try to have a bowel movement when you urinate. Should work after lunch, or before dinner.
  7. Have a light dinner, no dairy or meat, well cooked organic vegetables, and whole grain noodles or millet, buckwheat, barley, whole wheat couscous, oats or corn. Have a pickle afterwards
  8. Resolve to eat less and earlier on Thanksgiving.
  9. Remember to take a long slow walk every morning
  10. Self massage or daily body rub is suggested
