We’re all very sad today about the tragedy at Fort Hood. In fact my wife’s old boyfriend is an Army shrink at Fort Hood, with a wife and a bunch of kids, we don’t know if he’s alive or dead.
But there’s something most of us are missing:
1. When we eat meat, we get a ME vs. EVERONE AND EVERYTHING ELSE attitude. It blinds us to our humanity, compassion and intuition.
2. Eating meat leads to gas-guzzling, joining the Army, putting pesticides on your lawn, etc. All dangerous, all cause harm to others.
3. If you really want peace, stop eating animals, at least those who can feel pain. Hard to know if clams feel pain, but cows, pigs, chickens, lamb, dolphins, whales all do.
4. If you want more info, or you are appalled or confused by this posting, I urge you to do one of these two things:
-Attend Will Tuttle’s lecture/concert at 1pm on Friday Nov. 13, at Temple B’nai Torah, Sudbury (on Rt. 20, near Landham Rd.)
-Buy and read Will Tuttle’s book, The World Peace Diet, http://www.skyboard.net/will_person_creditcard.html
