Small Health Problems? Go Natural and Heal Them!!

fixsmallprobls

I know a lot of people with minor issues, and most are relying on testing, procedures and medications, as well as a few environmental changes, such as changing to a HEPA filter, and buying organic and local produce.

Hey, baby steps are FINE, because every little bit gives you more confidence, energy to look at deeper changes, and opens you up to new people so you can find your own path.

It’s not all about the food. But food does count, so follow these rules:

  1. Eat less, chew more, quality (local, plant foods, less processed)
  2. Cook your own food. Restaurant food is mostly horrible for you.
  3. Don’t eat after 8pm, period.
  4. Take a long walk before or after meals, and at the beginning of your day
  5. Body rubs improve circulation, digestion and mood

Enjoy!!!

Two Reasons Not To Give Up On Nature

kid gives ice cream

There are only two reasons to do anything really:

  1. For yourself
  2. For others

We all must balance our selfish needs with our desire to do good for others. I cannot help you there.

However, most of us do not have full information on what is the correct, expedient, efficient or logical thing to do.

Of course our emotions and our blind spot do enter into the equation, but I’m not talking about those.

I’m talking about the information we have on important things such as:

  • Global Warming
  • Suffering By Animals
  • What Medical Science Can Do vs. Eating Right, Exercising & Stress Reduction, etc.
  • Trusting Big Corporations and the U.S. Government to Take Care of Us

We CANNOT trust big business and government, nor can we believe that technology will fix our problems.

We must make an effort to limit toxins in the environment, and in our food, and we must do our best to keep ourselves healthy, with food, and lifestyle, and natural healing.

Please do not give up—for yourself, and for everyone else, including your children, your neighbors, the animals and the planet itself.

I’ve studied the latter for thirty years, and I want to support you in your life, and make a living doing so. I can help you over the phone, in person, even via email. Or just pick up my iphone app or eBook or placemat.

Interesting News Notes

ortiz

Outtakes from a Boston Globe interview with David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox:

Did you go vegan or vegetarian or try anything like that?

No, no, no. I like flavor. But I stopped a lot of things that I know had a lot to do with not losing weight, like the drinking, eating sweet stuff, eating fried things. Sugar is pretty bad. Everything has sugar pretty much, even if it doesn’t taste sweet.

First, he may know a lot about baseball, and be one of the all-time great Red Sox sluggers, but vegetarian foods actually have more flavor than meats, until you burn them, and add dangerous additives such as MSG, salt, and dairy.

Second, even he knows the dangers of sugar.

How Much Nature Do You Want?

screenshots-from-nature-vs-humanity-music-video-h

Maybe you love life in 2013.

Are you fully enjoying your smart phone, automobile, warmed and cooled home, vacations via air travel, phude, medications, etc.?

Is there any suffering that may be related to these?

Some examples of this suffering may include:

  • Lack of satisfaction
  • Financial Problems
  • Depression
  • Chronic Illness
  • Intuition that your life is not complete

Solving these problems is not difficult, and it’s actually a lot of fun.

Start here…

  1. Cook a pot of brown rice twice per week and eat some every day, chewing well
  2. Eliminate eggs, chicken, beef and milk from your diet
  3. Go outside more often, and take long nature walks in wooded areas
  4. Have more houseplants in your home
  5. Turn off your television and computer and smartphone occasionally
  6. Avoid news and arguments, and read books on natural healing, macrobiotics, feng shui, peace, etc.
  7. Take up yoga, tai chi, meditation, or other relaxation techniques
  8. Eat organic foods and avoid GMO foods, nightshade vegetables and tropical foods (in North America)
  9. Shop at family-run and small businesses, versus chains
  10. Use a chiropractor, naturopath or other alternative practitioner vs. doctors who cover symptoms

Enjoy your life!!

Get Outside…What’s Stopping You?

What a beautiful day today. Sunny, 75 degrees, and it’s the weekend so most of us can relax and enjoy life.

These are the times that we dream of during the winter, when it’s great outside and the days are long.

I hope you are taking full advantage of the weather. If you are not, then you are not only missing out on a good time, but also your body is missing out on better health. Perhaps you need to reprioritize. You can certainly get outside for a ten minute stroll before 8am, and that would be a start. And after dinner make sure to take another walk, perhaps to see the sunset.

Here are my top 10 things to do outside in great weather…

  1. Lie down on the grass and take a nap
  2. Gardening
  3. Hiking to a stream
  4. Boating
  5. Bicycling
  6. Take a drive down a country road with the windows down and radio on
  7. Swimming
  8. Fishing
  9. Tossing a football or Playing Tennis
  10. Going to a party

See you outside!!

Find Nature For Health, Peace, Happiness & Longevity

Take a minute to be grateful for all you have, and all you have experienced. Nam myoho renge kyo.

Now consider that there may be infinite paths of living the rest of your life. Common sense really, as there are thousands of choices we all make everyday, from meals to words to driving directions to investment decisions.

Finding nature is TRANSCENDANT for Health, Happiness and Longevity. And it saves the planet, reduces animal suffering, and improves finances.

Start by eating a rice ball. That and pickles are all I’m eating for the next four days.

Rice Balls

  • Brown Rice
  • Umeboshi Plum
  • Nori Seaweed
  • Rice Vinegar

Soak 1 cup rinsed brown rice for 4-12 hours. Pressure cook in 1.5 cups water or boil in 2 cups water, with a pinch of seasalt. Add 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup rice vinegar to a large bowl. Cut toasted nori sheets into quarters. If you have large plums, tear into three parts, one with pit (remember!). Then add hot rice to bowl and cool for a few minutes.

Grab a handful and shape into a ball. Then poke a hole with your finger and place ume plum bit into it and cover with rice. Now grab a 1/4 sheet of toasted nori and cover the ball. Then take another and rotate it 45 degrees from the first. Makes almost a perfect cover. Smooth over and place on a platter.

In a few minutes, revisit balls and add bits of nori to repair any bare spots. Enjoy the rolls instead of a full meal, for a picnic, as a hearty (SAT) breakfast, or anytime you need nourishment. Chew well. A pickle (I prefer saurkraut) completes the meal.

There is no better meal for health and enlightenment. Imagine peace.

Learn How You Can Kick Monsanto & Big Oil Out of Your Neighborhood!

Across the country, people are learning how to protect the health of their communities, and the people who live there. From GMO crops. From fracking. From outside corporations whose only concern is profit.

If you’d like to learn, too, you’re in luck. Because a Democracy School is coming to a community near you soon.

The CELDF Democracy School teaches citizens how to organize to protect community rights. It’s run by the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund(CELDF), a non-profit, public interest law firm providing free and affordable legal services to communities facing threats to their local environment, local agriculture, the local economy, and quality of life.

I recently attended a Democracy School and then met with local communities in Oregon that are working to pass their own versions of CELDF’s Model Food Bill of Rights. The Food Bill of Rights is a tool for communities to establish the right to locally produced, sustainably grown food, and to ban unsustainable agricultural practices. The bill includes protections for local family farms, the humane treatment of livestock and bans on genetically modified organisms. It also removes legal barriers that stand in the way of community food sustainability, such as corporate “rights” and state preemption.

It was a great experience, which is why I’m letting you know that a Democracy School is coming to a community near you. If you want to learn more about how to fight back against Monsanto and Big Oil, this is a great opportunity.

Good People, Bad Outcomes

whyavoidbeef

We are all smart people, some of the time. But we sometimes do foolish things.

Eating hamburgers at McDonald’s, or Five Guys, or the Softball field, is a foolish thing.

Serving chicken, eggs and beef to your children every week is also foolish, particularly in the spring and summer.

You may think we are crazy, but alas, we are not the ones with back problems, leg problems, learning issues, allergies, and mood swings. These are warnings that more serious issues are coming, such as heart attacks, MS, Cancer etc.

Perhaps you are doing a fine job running the household, or perhaps things are falling apart, but until you learn how to create health by eating and living a natural life, things will continue to decline.

Ask for help! We consult with moms and dads and their results improve within weeks. Call us at 508-333-4153.

Eating Animals and Violence (Such as Terrorism)

peaceloveveggies

What is your response to what is going on in Boston this week?

If you want to “kill ’em!,” then maybe you are feeling stressed, and certainly that is understandable.

But eating a lot of animal foods also stresses us out, particularly overcooked meats and eggs.

This time of year, there are some nice upward growing vegetables and more fruits available, and we ought to be eating those, along with some more rice, corn, millet and barley, in order to be healthful, and happy.

For help with your eating, please call me at 508-333-4153.

Praying for peace and love in this world.
