Healthy people don’t eat out frequently. Portions are huge, the food is often not fresh, and it generally contains too much salt, sugar, chemicals, etc., even when it’s vegan.
If you must go out, here are a few tips:
- Go vegetarian or vegan (animal foods have more bacteria, fat, chemicals, etc., even salmon)
- Go asian, especially Vietnamese, Thai or Japanese (Chinese and Indian are not good)
- Ask for no whole grain and no sauce, or white wine sauce, when you order pasta, etc.
- Get light dressing on your salad, and no croutons (white, butter, yeast)
- Skip the ice in your drink (the ice maker is generally filled with dust, bugs, germs)
- Don’t touch the menus, or wear gloves, or wash your hands after ordering
- Avoid nightshade vegetables, particularly raw (peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, spinach)
- Ask for a doggy bag when you order your meal, and save half for later
- Take your dessert home instead, or skip it and take a nice walk
- Have a pickle after your meal (preferably a real one, without vinegar, sugar and chemicals)
Here’s another tip: if you must have coffee after your meal, bring a small jar of almond or rice milk for it, and have your pickle afterwards.
Have a healthy weekend!!
