Best Local Veg Spots? I have my list below. Of course, restaurants open and close all the time, and sometimes these places make changes. I hope you will send us your comment at bottom.
Carol and I are foodies. We love to eat, and particularly on special opportunities (today is Super Bowl Sunday!). We love vegetables, low-sodium soups, beans (no gas please!), pasta (from chick peas, artichokes, rice, or quinoa mostly), salads (usually with a homemade dressing), and grains (no issue with carbs when it’s a whole grain, boiled).
Snack foods, sandwiches, breakfast foods and desserts complete the scene, and we love them all! Of course, we all want a break from cooking, and there are many great spots all over the nation.
Best Local Veg Spots? Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Vegetarian/Vegan spots are the best, but your favorite restaurant may also make healthy choices, whether it be a milk or cheese substitute, a meat substitute, or the addition of hummus, nut butter or other healthy protein etc.
Watch out for too much sodium, particularly at Japanese restaurants, and in replacement (fake) meat and cheese). Also watch out for too much sugar, and chemical sweeteners. We only approve of brown rice syrup, agave nectar, grade B maple syrup, ethically-sourced stevia, and all in small quantities, followed by a real pickle.
